Chinese CBA round 34 best performance: Grant Riller

American Shooting guard Grant Riller (189-SG-1997) had a great game in the last round for Beijing Royal Fighters, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 34.
The 28-year old player was the main contributor (46 points, five rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Zhejiang GB. (#10, 16-14) 98-90. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory Royal Fighters moved-up to the 13th position in Chinese CBA. Beijing is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 13-17 record. In the team's last game Riller had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He has many years of experience at Royal Fighters, through which he has constantly improved. Former College of Charleston star has very solid stats this year. Riller is in league's top in points (5th best: 22.3ppg) and averages impressive 60.6% FGP and 41.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young former international center Jinqiu Hu (211-C-1997) of league's second-best Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Hu had a very good evening with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Guangsha Lions cruised to a 102-95 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Tianjin P. (#18, 9-21). Guangsha L.'s second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just five games this season, while they won 25 matches. Hu is one of the most experienced players at Guangsha L. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Hassan Whiteside (213-C-1989) of league's top team Shanghai Sharks. Whiteside scored 14 points and grabbed 26 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Sharks, leading his team to a 97-81 easy win against #4 ranked Guangdong ST in a game of the week. Shanghai confirms their top position in the standings. Whiteside has a great season in China. After 26 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.0rpg (5th best). He also has 1.4bpg and a FGP of 65.7%.
