The most exciting game of round 29 in the CBA took place in Hangzhou. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Guangsha Lions (20-5) to ninth ranked Golden Bulls (14-11) 89-86 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Zhejiang GB. made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Guangsha L. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International Shuaipeng Cheng (191-1999) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points. American power forward Dakari Johnson (213-1995, college: Kentucky) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Golden Bulls' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Rayjon Tucker (191-1997, college: UALR) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 assists for Guangsha L.Zhejiang GB. moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Shenzhen L. Defending champion Guangsha L. keeps the second position with five games lost. Zhejiang GB. is looking forward to face higher ranked Shandong H. (#4) in Jinan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Guangsha L. will play at home against Ningbo R. and is hoping to win this game.
CBA top team - Sharks (21-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twentieth ranked Blue Whales (0-25) in Sichuan 129-79. American-Qatari Brandon Goodwin (188-1995, college: FGCU) stepped up and scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and Kenneth Lofton Jr chipped in 17 points. Hanyi Jing (195-1999) responded with 23 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sharks have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Shanghai maintains first place with 21-4 record. Sichuan at the other side still closes the standings. Shanghai will play against Qingdao E. (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Sichuan will play against Jiangsu D. (#19) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Shenzhen was also quite interesting. Third ranked Guandong Tigers (18-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Leopards (14-11). Guandong Tigers managed to secure a 4-point victory 101-97 on Friday. Jared Sullinger nailed 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Terquavion Smith came up with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for Shenzhen L. in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Guangdong ST maintains third place with 18-7 record having just three points less than leader Shanghai S. Shenzhen L. lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Zhejiang GB.. Guangdong ST will meet at home Liaoning (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shenzhen L. will play against Guangzhou and hope to secure a win.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 29: Tianjin P. was beaten by Beijing on the road 106-98. Liaoning won against Shanxi L. on its own court 92-84. Jilin NE T. managed to outperform Xinjiang in Changchun 89-82. Fujian S. managed to beat Ningbo R. at home 77-76. Beijing D. defeated Guangzhou on the opponent's court 98-85. Jiangsu D. was beaten by Nanjing in a home game 84-93. Qingdao E. lost to Shandong H. on the road 76-85.

Beijing RF - Tianjin P. 106-98

No shocking result in a game when twelfth ranked Royal Fighters (12-13) beat 16th ranked Pioneers (9-16) in Beijing 106-98 on Friday. Beijing made 28-of-35 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American Grant Riller (189-1997, college: Charleston) nailed 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side and international guard Sanning Liao (189-2001) accounted for 23 points and 7 rebounds.
