American Baylee Steele (213-C-1997, agency: Octagon Europe) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Hubei Wenlv and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents NBL Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 28-year old center had a double-double of 34 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Jiangxi (#9, 11-11) 105-91. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory Hubei moved-up to the 13th position in Chinese NBL. Hubei is currently ranked second from the bottom. They need more victories to improve their 8-14 record. In the team's last game Steele had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Hubei, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of Duquesne graduate has very impressive stats this year. Steele is in league's top in points (4th best: 23.1ppg), rebounds (7th best: 10.7rpg) and averages solid 54.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Michael Bryson (193-G-1994) of Jiangxi Ganchi. Bryson impressed basketball fans with 34 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Jiangxi lost that game 91-105 to the lower-ranked Hubei (#13, 8-14). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Jiangxi dropped in the standings to 9th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 11-11 record is not bad and everything may still change. Bryson is one of the most experienced players at Jiangxi and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.8ppg (#8). He also registered 6.6 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Shemar Wilson (206-F-2001) of Shanghai Black Bird (#4). Wilson scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was a key player of Shanghai, leading his team to a 104-79 easy win against the lower-ranked Guizhou (#12, 8-14). Shanghai needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 9 lost games. Wilson has a very solid season. In 22 games in China he scored 10.8ppg. He also has 8.4rpg and a FGP of 62.3%.
