Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Hangzhou: Guangsha Lions (#1) and Golden Bulls (#8). Guangsha Lions (19-3) won against visiting Golden Bulls (12-10) 68-58. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Golden Bulls. American guard Rayjon Tucker (191-1997, college: UALR) stepped up and scored 18 points and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward JaKarr Sampson (206-1993, college: St.John's) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side forward Zeyi Liu (202-1999) responded with 7 points and 15 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guangsha Lions have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 19-3 record. Zhejiang GB. at the other side keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Guangsha L. are looking forward to face Jilin NE T. (#16) in Changchun in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Zhejiang GB. will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Blue Whales (0-22) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 22th consecutive match to seventeenth ranked Monkey Kings (7-15) 104-72. The former international Mingzheng Zhu (196-1996) nailed 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Baiqing Zhao accounted for 16 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Weihao Li (204-1997) came up with 18 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) for Sichuan in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nanjing maintains seventeenth place with 7-15 record, which they share with Tianjin P. Sichuan at the other side still closes the standings. Nanjing will play against league's second-placed Shanghai on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sichuan will play against Xinjiang (#14) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Ninth-ranked Loong Lions (10-11) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Heroes (15-6) in Jinan on Saturday. Heroes managed to secure only three-point victory 83-80. However their fans expected much easier game. Devaughn Akoon-Purcell fired 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Justin Holiday produced 25 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Shandong H. maintains fourth place with 15-6 record. Loser Loong Lions dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Shandong H. will meet Tianjin P. (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Guangzhou will have a break next round.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 25: Qingdao E. lost to Beijing on the opponent's court 64-69. Shanghai managed to outperform Shenzhen L. in a home game 101-92. Shanxi L. rolled over Jilin NE T. on the road 105-74. Liaoning defeated Tianjin P. on its own court 105-91.



Beijing RF - Qingdao E. 69-64

There was an upset in Beijing where higher ranked Eagles (13-9) were defeated by twelfth ranked Royal Fighters (11-11) 69-64 on Friday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Beijing made 8 blocks. American forward Reggie Perry (208-2000, college: MSU) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Yuchen Zou (206-1996) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four Royal Fighters players scored in double figures. American guard Quinndary Weatherspoon (190-1996, college: MSU) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Jordan Mickey (203-1994, college: LSU) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Eagles' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Royal Fighters have a solid series of four victories in a row. Beijing moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Ningbo R. and Shanxi L. Qingdao E. lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Beijing D.. Beijing will meet Fujian S. (#15) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Qingdao E. will play against Beijing D. (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
