Chinese CBA round 21 best performance: Xu Xin (by Hoops Agents)

Center Xu Xin (226-C-2003) had an amazing evening in the last round for Guangzhou Loong Lions, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 22-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Nanjing MK (#18, 5-14) 112-102. Loong Lions is placed at 8th position in Chinese CBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Guangzhou will need more victories to improve their 10-8 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Xin as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Xu Xin averages this season 10.6ppg and 7.1rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was another Guangzhou LL's star - young Canadian Lindell Wigginton (185-G-1998). Wigginton had a very good evening with 31 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course Guangzhou Loong Lions cruised to a 112-102 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Nanjing MK (#18, 5-14). This victory allowed Loong Lions to move up to 8th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 10-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Wigginton is a newcomer at Loong Lions, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.9ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 4.8rpg and 7.4apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Markell Johnson (188-PG-1998) of Shenzhen Leopards (#7). Johnson showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Leopards, leading his team to a 105-95 win against slightly lower-ranked Shanxi L. (#9, 10-9). Shenzhen L. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 7 lost games. Johnson has a great season in China. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.1apg (7th best).
