Marcus LoVett Jr. agreed terms with Shanghai

Marcus LoVett

Shanghai Black Bird (NBL) signed Marcus LoVett Jr., a 29-year-old American guard who stands at 183cm tall. He played for St. John's in college and is represented by Octagon Europe. LoVett Jr. began this season with Nanjing Monkey Kings (CBA), where he averaged 14.4ppg, 3.1rpg, 5.4apg, and 1.4spg in 8 games. The move to NBL will provide him with more playing time and a better opportunity. Last summer, he competed for another Chinese team, Hebei Xianglan.
He is a very experienced player. LoVett has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). He has played professionally also in Finland (Vilpas), Portugal (Ovarense and Sporting), Serbia (KK Sloboda Uzice) and Turkey (Yalovaspor).
Among many awards, his team won the Portuguese Hugo dos Santos Cup in 2023. LoVett was voted to the Eurobasket.com All-Portuguese Liga Betclic Honorable Mention in 2024.
He graduated from St. John's University in 2018 and is currently in his eighth season in pro basketball.
