Gigantes de Carolina (BSN) added to their roster 31-year old American forward Montrezl Harrell (203cm-109kg-1994, college: Louisville). Harrell moved there from Xinjiang Flying Tigers in Chinese CBA league. In 13 games he recorded 11.9ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.8apg. He also spent pre-season at Golden Bulls (CBA). The other team he played that season for was Adelaide 36ers in Australian NBL where in 28 CBA games he averaged impressive 20.5ppg, 9.3rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1bpg. Harrell was also named League Player of the Week (2 times) and voted to Australiabasket.com All-Australian NBL Second Team.
In 2015 he was drafted by Houston Rocketss (NBA) in second round (32nd overall). The former University of Louisville standout is in his tenth season in pro basketball.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Asia, Australia and of course North America) in four different countries. Harrell has played previously professionally in USA, NBA (LA Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets), NBA G League (RGV Vipers) and The Basketball Tournament (The Ville). He played in the final of NBA Western Conference -2017, 20 in 2017 and 2020.
Harrell was selected NBA Sixth Man of the Year back in 2020.
