The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of hengfan (26-6) in Jiyuan on Tuesday night. Visitors were rolled over by Henan Phoenix (23-9) 95-64. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Henan made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Wuhan turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Emma Cannon (188-1989, college: FSC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds. Her fellow American import center Kelsey Bone (193-1991, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Rennia Davis (188-1999, college: Tennessee) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds for Wuhan. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Henan Phoenix have a solid series of three victories in a row. A very close game took place in Hefei between Hefei and Liaoning Hengye. Sixth ranked Hefei (16-16) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked Liaoning Hengye (18-14). Hefei managed to escape with a 1-point win 67-66 on Tuesday evening. Kiana Williams nailed 23 points for the winning side. Ana Pocek came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for Liaoning in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Hefei maintains sixth place with 16-16 record. Loser Liaoning Hengye keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost.
Other games in round 37 were not that significant. Sichuan smashed Fujian on the road 96-65. Hebei was destroyed by Inner M. on its own court 59-88. Zhejiang unfortunately lost to Jiangsu in Nanjing 92-95. Shaanxi rolled over Ganzhou at home 91-65. Beijing defeated Shanghai on the opponent's court 83-75. Winless Tianjin was smashed by Xiamen in a home game 80-104. Shandong destroyed Xinjiang on the road 98-69.
The most impressive performance of 37th round was 39 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds by Alanna Smith of Shandong.
