Israeli-American Forward TJ Leaf (208-F-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for Nanjing Tongxi Monkey Kings, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 27.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 35 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Tianjin (#17, 7-20) 108-95. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Monkey Kings maintains the 12th position in Chinese CBA. Nanjing is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 13-14 record. Leaf turned to be Monkey Kings's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of California at Los Angeles star has very solid stats this year. Leaf is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 13.5rpg) and averages impressive 1.8bpg and 64.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Sonny Weems (198-G/F-1986) of Shenzhen Leopards. Weems had a very good evening with a triple-double of 36 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Of course Leopards cruised to a 122-112 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Fujian S. (#20, 3-23). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Shenzhen L. keeps 14th position. 19 lost games are too many comparing to just eight victories Leopards managed to get this year. Weems is a newcomer at Shenzhen L., but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Scottie James Jr. (202-F-1996, agency: Pensack Sports) of Tianjin Ronggang Pioneers (#17). James Jr. got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for twenty two rebounds and six assists. Despite James Jr.'s great performance the Pioneers lost 95-108 to the higher-ranked Nanjing MK (#12, 13-14). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Tianjin can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 7-20 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. James Jr. has individually a great season in China. After 26 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.2ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 14.8rpg (#1 in league).
