Young comes back to Sturgeons, ex Gorgan

Fujian Sturgeons (CBA) inked 32-year old American 188cm guard Joseph Young (college: Oregon) for upcoming season. It is actually his comeback to Sturgeons as he has played here before. He played most recently at Shahrdari Gorgan in Iranian Superleague. He also played for Al Kuwait SC in Kuwaiti league earlier that season where in 6 West Asia Super League games he recorded very impressive stats: 23.0ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.8apg last season. The other team he played shortly was Sturgeons.
In 2015 he was drafted by Indiana Pacers (NBA) in second round (43rd overall). Young graduated from University of Oregon and it will be his tenth season in pro basketball.
He is a very experienced player. Young has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to seven different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Greece (Promitheas), Iran, Italy (Napoli), Kuwait, NBA G League (Indiana Mad Ants and Birmingham Squadron), China (Monkey Kings, Royal Fighters and Changsha) and NBA Summer League (LA Lakers). His team made it to the Basketball Champions League Asia Semifinals in 2024.
Among many awards he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA Honorable Mention back in 2021. Young played also for University of Houston for 13 years.
