Blue Whales land Edmond Sumner, ex Zalgiris

Sichuan Blue Whales (CBA) tabbed 28-year old American 198cm guard Edmond Sumner (college: Xavier) for new season. He played most recently at Zalgiris in Lithuanian LKL league. In 27 games he averaged 10.0ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.8apg last season. He helped them to win the cup and make to league final. Sumner also played 23 games in Euroleague where he had 6.9ppg, 1.1rpg and 1.8apg. He also spent pre-season at the Hornets in NBA.
In 2017 he was drafted by New Orleans Pelicans (NBA) in second round (52nd overall). The former Xavier University standout is in his eighth season in pro basketball.
Sumner is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Lithuania, NBA (Brooklyn Nets and Indiana Pacers), NBA G League (Indiana Mad Ants) and NBA Summer League (Indiana Pacers).
Among many awards he won NBA G League Central Division championship title in 2018. Sumner was voted to Big East All-Freshman Team back in 2016 at his college time.
