Bertram Yachts Derthona Tortona (Serie A) inked 27-year old American 188cm guard Christian Vital (college: UConn) for upcoming season. Vital played this summer at Henan Shedianlaojiu in Chinese NBL league. He managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!). First he played at Legia in Polish OBL. The team played in three different competitions that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 32 Polish OBL games he was the best scorer with impressive 19.7ppg and recorded 4.2rpg, 3.0apg and 2.1spg (in top 3). Vital helped them to win the cup. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com Polish League All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week. He also played 13 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he averaged remarkable 21.9ppg, 4.6rpg, 2.8apg and 2.3spg. Vital contributed to his team making it to the quarterfinals. It was a very successful season in his career as he was awarded Eurobasket.com All-FIBA Europe Cup Guard of the Year, Import of the Year and also here League Player of the Week (3 times). He also played 2 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 15.0ppg, 4.5rpg, 3.0apg and 3.5spg.
Vital is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Canada (Honey Badgers), Germany, NBA G League (SLC Stars, RGV Vipers and Raptors 905 Mississauga) and NBA Summer League (Toronto Raptors).
Vital won CEBL championship title in 2022.
He graduated from University of Connecticut in 2020 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.
