Hong Kong Bulls (D3) signed experienced 35-year-old American 193cm guard Dominique Jones (college: S.Florida). He joins Cameron Oliver, another USA player already on the roster. Jones moved there from Xinjiang Flying Tigers (CBA), but plans changed. In 61 games last season, he averaged 14.3ppg, 5.7rpg, 7.3apg, and 1.4spg. D3 will be a better match for him, and he can expect more playing time. He helped Xinjiang Flying Tigers reach the Chinese CBA final after finishing the regular season as the second-best team. Jones had a successful year, earning Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week honors four times. Last summer, he played for Sideline Cancer in the U.S. semi-pro league The Basketball Tournament.
In 2010, he was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies (NBA) in the first round (25th overall). He graduated from the University of South Florida, and it will be his 14th season in pro basketball.
Jones is a very experienced player, thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in six different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Jones has played previously professionally in Iran (Petrochimi and Azad), Puerto Rico (Osos), NBA (Dallas Mavericks), China (Flying Leopards, Loongs, Jilin Tigers, Eagles and Monkey Kings), NBA G League (Texas Legends and Springfield A.) and The Basketball Tournament (Armored Athlete, Team DRC and Florida TNT).
Among many awards, his team won the Chinese NBL Regular Season in 2019. He received the Asia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague Player of the Year award back in 2017. It may be one of the last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Hong Kong.
