In 2010, he was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies (NBA) in the first round (25th overall). He graduated from the University of South Florida, and it will be his 14th season in pro basketball. Jones is a very experienced player, thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in six different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Jones has played previously professionally in Iran (Petrochimi and Azad), Puerto Rico (Osos), NBA (Dallas Mavericks), China (Flying Leopards, Loongs, Jilin Tigers, Eagles and Monkey Kings), NBA G League (Texas Legends and Springfield A.) and The Basketball Tournament (Armored Athlete, Team DRC and Florida TNT). Among many awards, his team won the Chinese NBL Regular Season in 2019. He received the Asia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague Player of the Year award back in 2017.
