Guandong Tigers waive MarShon Brooks

The Guangdong Southern Tigers (CBA) have released MarShon Brooks, a 35-year-old American shooting guard. Brooks, who stands at 197cm and weighs 91kg, has been with the team for the past five years.
In 2011, he was drafted by the Boston Celtics (NBA) in the first round, 25th overall. He graduated from Providence College, and this is his 13th season in professional basketball.
He's a highly experienced player, having played in four different countries across three continents. He's had a taste of the professional basketball life in Europe, Asia, and North America. His previous professional stints include playing for Armani Milano in Italy, as well as various NBA teams such as the Chicago Bulls, GS Warriors, LA Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, and Memphis Grizzlies. He has also played in the NBA G League for the Santa Cruz Warriors and Maine Celtics.
In 2023, his team was the regular season runner-up in the Chinese CBA. He was voted as the Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA Player of the Year and the Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA Import Player of the Year in 2021.
