Heroes keep Gillenwater for another season

Shandong Heroes (CBA) re-signed experienced 34-year old American 205cm forward Troy Gillenwater (college: NM State) for upcoming season. He was a team leader there last season. In 38 CBA games he averaged impressive 21.8ppg, 7.8rpg and 1.1apg. He was also voted League Player of the Week.
Gillenwater won Chinese NBL championship title in 2017 and 2018. He was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese NBL Forward of the Year back in 2017 and 2018.
The previous (2022) summer he was tested by Gutter Cat Gang in U.S. semi-pro league The Basketball Tournament.
Gillenwater is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to ten different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Gillenwater has played previously professionally also in Cyprus, Israel, Japan (Alvark Tokyo), Philippines (SM Beermen), Puerto Rico (Piratas), Russia (Spartak Primorie Vladivostok), Turkey (Eskisehir Basket), Venezuela (Bucaneros) and South Korea (KoGas, LG Sakers and Sono Skygunners).
He graduated from New Mexico State University in 2011 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season in pro basketball. Gillenwater won Chinese NBL championship title in 2017 and 2018. He was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese NBL Forward of the Year back in 2017 and 2018.
