Antonio Blakeney joins Monkey Kings

Nanjing Tongxi Monkey Kings (CBA) agreed terms with 26-year old American guard Antonio Blakeney (193cm-86kg-1996, college: LSU) for new 2023-24 season. Blakeney played this summer at Team Challenge ALS (The Basketball Tournament) in the U.S. In only one TBT game just recently he recorded very impressive stats: 18 points and 8 rebounds. The last season he played at Jiangsu Dragons in Chinese CBA where in 40 games he had also remarkable stats: 32.1ppg, 7.4rpg, 4.8apg and 1.1spg. Quite impressive season as he was named to Asia-Basket.com Chinese CBA All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week (3 times).
Two years ago (four years after his graduation) he was drafted by Canton Charge (G-League) as #3 pick overall.
The former Louisiana State University standout is in his seventh season in pro basketball.
He is quite experienced player. Blakeney's career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in five different countries. Blakeney tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Bahrain (Al-Ahli), Israel (Hapoel Beer Sheva), NBA (Chicago Bulls), NBA G League (Cleveland Charge) and NBA Summer League (Portland Trail Blazers).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team made it to the SEC Tournament Semifinals in 2016. Blakeney was also voted USBasket.com All-NBA G League Rookie of the Year back in 2018.
