Regular Season Round 9: Shizuoka - Fukui B. 63-87

Very significant was Fukui B.'s (#3) 24-point road victory against second-best Shizuoka 87-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Shizuoka. Blowinds dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Shizuoka's 34. Blowinds players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American Ryan Kelly (211-1991, college: Duke, agency: Slash Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-1995, college: WKU) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Blowinds players scored in double figures. American forward John Harrar (205-1999, college: Penn State) came up with 11 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import power forward Johnathan Williams III (206-1995, college: Gonzaga, agency: Diamond Sports) added 13 points respectively for Shizuoka in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukui B. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Shinshu. Shizuoka at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Toyama G.. Fukui B. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shizuoka will play at home against the league's second-placed Fukui B. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
