The most shocking disappointment of round 17 was a home defeat of 3rd placedChong Ghee (10-6) to fourth ranked Tagawa (11-5) 74-65 in the game for the third place. Harihaaran Parathy stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners and international forward Shi-Yu Ng (197-2000) chipped in 25 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Jay-Shay Lim (177-1997) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and international guard Justen Chiam (177-2002) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tagawa have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Chong Ghee at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost.
