Regular Season Round 8: Phuket MW - T-REX 96-97

The most exciting game of round 8 in the TBL took place in Phuket. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Waves (3-6) to sixth ranked T-REX (5-4) 97-96 on Saturday evening. T-REX forced 19 Waves turnovers and had a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Ukrainian power forward Dmytro Tykhonov (207-1992, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds and Ukrainian swingman Oleksandr Kolchenko (195-1988, agency: BIG) who added 18 points during the contest. Filipino point guard James Martinez (170-1987) responded with 43 points (!!!) and Patrick Tchuente produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. T-REX have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Mammoth. Defending champion Waves keep the seventh position with six games lost. T-REX is looking forward to face Mammoth (#6) in Suphan Buri in the next round. Waves will play on the road against Tigers in Bangkok and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
