Top rankedGerasa (17-6) recorded its sixth loss at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were edged by second ranked Rum (15-7) 85-84 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gerasa. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was international forward Hashem Abbas (198-1999, college: Bridgeport) who had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 9 assists. Forward Mohammad Nasereddin (196, college: Wheaton, MA) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. The former international center Yousef Abuwazaneh (201-1993) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Byron Maxwell (175-1993, college: LeMoyne-Owen) added 22 points respectively for the hosts. Five Gerasa players scored in double figures. Rum have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-7 record having just three points less than leader Gerasa, which they share with Philadelphia. Gerasa at the other side still keeps top place with six games lost.
