Top ranked Geresa (13-2) recorded its second loss on the court of fourth ranked Petra on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Petra 103-88. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Geresa. Petra dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Geresa's 42. Petra looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Petra made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was American power forward Gregoryshon Magee (211-1990, college: USA) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds. American-Jamaican center David Haye (183-1994, college: SUNY Delhi, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists. Magee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Petra players scored in double figures. American point guard Byron Maxwell (175-1993, college: LeMoyne-Owen) produced a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Ahmad Alhamarsheh added 18 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Petra maintains fourth place with 9-6 record. Geresa at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still keeps top position with two games lost.
