Regular Season Round 55: Ryukyu GK - Saga B. 101-97

No shocking result in a game in Okinawa where first ranked Golden Kings (39-15) won against 5th ranked Ballooners (27-27) 101-97 on Wednesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Ryukyu made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Ryukyu outrebounded Saga B. 51-37 including 39 on the defensive glass. American power forward Allen Durham (198-1988, college: Grace Christian) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Keita Imamura (191-1996) chipped in 24 points and 7 rebounds. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Cuban guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-1990) produced 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American Chase Fieler (202-1992, college: FGCU) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Ryukyu and five Saga B. players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains first place with 39-15 record. Saga B. lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with 27 games lost. Ryukyu will meet at home Nagasaki (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Saga B. will play against Kyoto H. and hope to secure a win.
