Regular Season Round 52: Saga B. - Osaka E. 86-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Osaka E.'s (20-31) road loss to fifth ranked Ballooners (27-24) in Saga 74-86 on Wednesday. Saga B. forced 20 Osaka E. turnovers. Strangely Osaka E. outrebounded Saga B. 47-31 including a 39-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Saga B. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by Cuban guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-1990) who scored that evening 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and American Yoeli Childs (203-1998, college: BYU) supported him with 16 points. Even a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) by Italian-American forward Angelo Caloiaro (203-1989, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Osaka E.. American forward Shawn Long (208-1993, college: Louisiana, agency: Pensack Sports) added 20 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Saga B. maintains fifth position with 27-24 record, which they share with Kawasaki. Osaka E. lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 31 games lost. They share the position with Nagasaki. Saga B. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Osaka E. will play against Kyoto H. (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
