Regular Season Round 6: Hotshots - North Port 104-97

Very important is a road loss of third ranked North Port (4-2) against tenth ranked Hotshots (2-2) on Wednesday night. Visiting North Port was defeated by Hotshots in a tough game in Pasig City 97-104. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of North Port. Hotshots dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to North Port's 36. Hotshots forced 20 North Port turnovers and outrebounded them 54-37 including 19 on the offensive glass. Hotshots players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. North Port was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for power forward Ian Paul Sangalang (201-1991) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Andy Barroca (176-1988) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals for the winners. American forward Zavier Lucero (198, college: Cal Maritime) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized American guard Joshua Munzon (191-1995, college: CS Los Angeles) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for North Port. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hotshots maintains tenth position with 2-2 record. North Port at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. Hotshots will play against Phoenix (#11) in Quezon in the next round. North Port will play at home against Ginebra Kings (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
