Regular Season Round 52: Ryukyu GK - Nagoya DD 95-98

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Golden Kings (37-14) in Okinawa on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by second ranked Dolphins (34-19) 98-95. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Golden Kings. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Nagoya DD looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-1995) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. American power forward Scott Eatherton (208-1991, college: Northeastern) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman Keita Imamura (191-1996) replied with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and American forward Victor Law (201-1995, college: Northwestern, agency: Pensack Sports) added 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Ryukyu. Five Nagoya DD and four Ryukyu players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dolphins have an impressive six-game winning streak. Nagoya DD maintains second position with 34-19 record having five points less than leader Tochigi Brex. Defending champion Ryukyu still keeps top place with 14 games lost. Nagoya DD's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nagoya FE Nagoya.
