Regular Season Round 50: Ryukyu GK - Chiba Jets 85-76

No shocking result in a game in Okinawa where first ranked Golden Kings (36-13) won against 3rd ranked Jets (31-18) 85-76 on Saturday. Ryukyu made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Ryukyu outrebounded Chiba Jets 49-30 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The other American import forward Victor Law (201-1995, college: Northwestern, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Golden Kings' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Australian forward Xavier Cooks (203-1995, college: Winthrop) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-1993) added 19 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Golden Kings have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 36-13 record. Chiba Jets at the other side keep the third place with 18 games lost. Ryukyu will meet at home Chiba Jets (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
