Regular Season Round 44: Gunma CT - Alvark Tokyo 87-89

Fourth-ranked Thunders (24-19) gave a tough game to second ranked Alvark Tokyo (35-8) in Gunma. The visitors from Tokyo managed to secure only two-point victory 89-87. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Thunders. Alvark Tokyo outrebounded Gunma CT 38-24 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international forward Ryan Rossiter (206-1989, college: Siena) who scored that evening 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Lithuanian center Arturas Gudaitis (211-1993) supported him with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Alvark Tokyo's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 18 points and 9 rebounds by American center Kaleb Tarczewski (212-1993, college: Arizona) did not help to save the game for Gunma CT. His fellow American import guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-1990, college: Miami, FL) added 19 points for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Alvark Tokyo have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 35-8 record having just one point less than leader Tochigi Brex. Gunma CT at the other side dropped to the third place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Kawasaki. Alvark Tokyo will play against Chiba Jets (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Gunma CT will play against Toyama G. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
