Regular Season Round 43: Chiba Jets - Gunma CT 86-95

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fourth ranked Thunders (24-18) beat 3rd placed Jets (27-15) in Chiba 95-86 on Wednesday. Gunma CT looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized American forward Michael Parker (200-1981, college: Evergreen St.) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-1990, college: Miami, FL) accounted for 24 points for the winning side. American guard Christopher Smith (193-1994, college: Utah St.) came up with 33 points (!!!) (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward John Mooney (206-1998, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Chiba Jets in the defeat. Five Gunma CT and four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Jets' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Thunders have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Gunma CT moved-up to third place, which they share with Shimane SM. Chiba Jets at the other side keep the third position with 15 games lost. Gunma CT will meet at home league's second-placed Alvark Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chiba Jets will play against Ibaraki R. in Mito and hope to secure a win.
