Regular Season Round 41: FE Nagoya - Shinshu BW 94-83

Rather expected game in Nagoya where 7th ranked Brave Warriors (6-35) were defeated by fifth ranked Fighting Eagles (20-19) 94-83 on Saturday. FE Nagoya dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Brave Warriors's 30. Strangely Shinshu outrebounded FE Nagoya 43-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Aaron Henry (198-1999, college: Michigan St., agency: Diamond Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. His fellow American import power forward Sean OMara (208-1995, college: Xavier) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Justyn Mutts (201-1999, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-1989, college: Oregon St.) added 15 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Fighting Eagles. Newly promoted FE Nagoya maintains fifth place with 20-19 record. Shinshu lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 35 games lost. FE Nagoya will meet at home Shinshu (#7) in the next round. Shinshu will have a break next round.
