Rather expected game when 8th rankedGrouses (4-35) were smashed by sixth ranked 89ers (17-22) in Toyama 86-66 on Sunday. Sendai 89ers made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American forward Rashawn Thomas (203-1994, college: TAMUCC) who scored that evening 24 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import Nathan Boothe (208-1994, college: Toledo) supported him with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds by Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (207-1991) did not help to save the game for Toyama G. . The former international forward Naoki Uto (191-1991) added 16 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sendai 89ers maintains sixth position with 17-22 record, which they share with Yokohama BC. Toyama G. lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 35 games lost.
