Regular Season Round 27: Koshigaya A. - Niigata A. 116-70

Everything went according to plan when second rankedAlphas (23-15) outplayed 7th ranked Niigata A. (5-33) in Tokyo 116-70 on Saturday. Koshigaya A. dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Niigata A. 's 22. They outrebounded Niigata A. 59-20 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Koshigaya A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Niigata A. 's players. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Justin Harper (208-1989, college: Richmond) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import center Isaac Butts (208-1989, college: App State) accounted for 14 points and 15 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winning side. Alphas' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Zen Endo (182-1998) came up with 15 points and Io Nagano added 13 points respectively for Niigata A. in the defeat. Five Koshigaya A. and four Niigata A. players scored in double figures. Koshigaya A. maintains second place with 23-15 record having five points less than leader Chiba. Niigata A. lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 33 games lost.
