Regular Season Round 38: Kawasaki BT - Ryukyu GK 75-87

Rather predictable result in Kanagawa where first ranked Golden Kings (25-12) defeated 3rd ranked Brave Thunders (20-17) 87-75 on Wednesday. Ryukyu outrebounded Kawasaki 38-17 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import center Alex Kirk (211-1991, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Thomas Wimbush (201-1993, college: Fairmont St., agency: Slash Sports) produced 26 points and Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-1993, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 25-12 record, which they share with Sea Horses M. Loser Brave Thunders keeps the third place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Sunrockers Sh.. Ryukyu will meet at home Hokkaido L. (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Kawasaki will play against Ibaraki R. (#8) and hope to secure a win.
