Regular Season Round 37: Saga B. - Gunma CT 69-79

There was a minor upset when their close opponent Ballooners (18-18) lost to fifth ranked Thunders (18-18) in Saga 69-79 on Sunday. Gunma CT shot 23 for 31 from the free-throw line, while Saga B. only scored six points from the stripe. American center Kaleb Tarczewski (212-1993, college: Arizona) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and naturalized American forward Michael Parker (200-1981, college: Evergreen St.) accounted for 16 points and 12 rebounds. Four Thunders players scored in double figures. American Chase Fieler (202-1992, college: FGCU) came up with 22 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import Yoeli Childs (203-1998, college: BYU) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Saga B. in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Thunders. Gunma CT maintains fifth place with 18-18 record, which they share with Saga B. Saga B. lost their fifth game in a row. Gunma CT will meet at home Sendai 89ers (#6) in the next round. Saga B. will play against Shinshu in Nagano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
