The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Flying Leopards (29-6) in Yingkou on Monday night. Hosts were edged by ninth ranked Sharks (21-15) 107-105. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Flying Leopards. Shanghai made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Shanghai had a 41-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Liaoning helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Eric Bledsoe (185-1989, college: Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and American Dwayne Bacon (201-1995, college: FSU) who added 28 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Jiwei Zhao (184-1995) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 assists and American guard Kyle Fogg (191-1990, college: Arizona) scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Shanghai and four Liaoning players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Shanghai moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Beijing. Defending champion Liaoning dropped to the second position with six games lost. Shanghai is looking forward to face Guangzhou (#10) at home in the next round. Liaoning will play against Shandong H. (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
