There was no surprise in Nagano where 7th rankedBrave Warriors (4-22) were defeated by second ranked Tochigi Brex (20-6) 73-59 on Friday. Tochigi Brex looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard DJ Newbill (193-1992, college: Penn St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import center Grant Jerrett (208-1993, college: Arizona) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Justyn Mutts (201-1999, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and American-Ivorian power forward Deon Thompson (204-1988, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tochigi Brex maintains second place with 20-6 record having just two points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Shinshu lost their fifteenth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 22 games lost.
