Regular Season Round 15: Koshigaya A. - Fukushima 81-83

Important game to mention about took place in Tokyo. Fifth ranked Firebonds (9-17) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging second-best Alphas (16-10) 83-81 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Alphas. It was a good game for Lithuanian forward Rapolas Ivanauskas (208-1998, college: Cincinnati) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Taketo Kato (178-2000) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Firebonds' coach Eric Weissling allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Justin Harper (208-1989, college: Richmond) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the other American import swingman LJ Peak (196-1996, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) added 17 points and 5 assists in the effort for Koshigaya A.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fukushima maintains fifth place with 9-17 record. Koshigaya A. at the other side keeps the second position with ten games lost. They share it with Kumamoto V.. Fukushima will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Koshigaya A. will play on the road against Bambitious in Nara and hopes to get back on the winning track.
