Very expected game when 6th rankedBig Bulls (5-21) were defeated on the road by first ranked Chiba (24-2) 85-68 on Sunday. Chiba made 31-of-41 free shots (75.6 percent) during the game, while Iwate only scored five points from the stripe. It was a great evening for American Brandon Ashley (206-1994, college: Arizona) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import center Dererk Pardon (203-1996, college: Northwestern) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Slovenian forward Martin Krampelj (206-1995, college: Creighton) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Kelvin Martin (196-1989, college: Charleston So.) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chiba have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. Newly promoted Chiba maintains first place with 24-2 record. Iwate lost seventh consecutive game. Iwate at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth position with 21 games lost.
