There was no surprise when 8th rankedBarsy Atyrau (1-10) was crushed at home by first ranked Astana Tigers (9-2) 73-45 on Saturday. Astana Tigers held Barsy Atyrau to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.2 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Barsy Atyrau 54-28 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Astana Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Astana Tigers have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-2 record, which they share with Aktobe and Turan. Barsy Atyrau lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Astana Tigers will meet at home Turan (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Barsy Atyrau will play against Irtysh (#7) in Pavlodar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
