Rather expected game in Matsuyama where 7th rankedOrange Vikings (7-18) were defeated by fifth ranked Shizuoka (12-12) 96-79 on Wednesday. Shizuoka dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Orange Vikings 's 28. It was a great shooting night for Shizuoka especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Liberian-American guard Thomas Bropleh (196-1991, college: Boise St.) fired 31 points for the winners. American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Takumi Furuno (178-1993) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 assists and American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-1990, college: LBSU) added 13 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Ehime players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Shizuoka maintains fifth place with 12-12 record. Loser Orange Vikings keeps the seventh position with 18 games lost.
