Regular Season Round 20: Toyoda - Veertien Mie 83-90

We should mention about the upset which took place in Aichi, where 13th ranked Scorpions (7-13) lost at home to sixteenth ranked Veertien Mie (6-14) 83-90. American guard Justin Pierce (201-1998, college: UNC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import power forward Damonte Dodd (211-1994, college: Maryland) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) for the winners. Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (198-1991, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Ren Takemura (170-1995) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Toyoda. Four Toyoda players scored in double figures. Veertien Mie moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Shinagawa and Shanan Utd. Toyoda at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Gifu. Veertien Mie will play against bottom-ranked Kanazawa (#18) in Ishikawa in the next round. Toyoda will play on the road against Saitama (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
