There was no surprise when 6th ranked Almtayleb (2-3) was crushed at home by top-ranked Club Beirut (5-0) 72-37 on Tuesday. Club Beirut held Almtayleb to an opponent 20.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Almtayleb 57-20 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Club Beirut looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by Almtayleb's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Aida Bakhos (178-1986, college: Lamar) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Melody Saneh who added 14 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Mathilda Khalil responded with 18 points and Catharina Imad scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Club Beirut have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Loser Almtayleb keeps the sixth place with three games lost.
