Not a big story in a game when 5th rankedShizuoka (10-9) was edged on the road by third ranked Kumamoto V. (12-7) 81-78 on Sunday. American guard Terrance Woodbury (203-1987, college: Georgia) nailed 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Aaron White (206-1992, college: Iowa) accounted for 15 points and 11 rebounds. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Kumamoto V.'s coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Liberian-American guard Thomas Bropleh (196-1991, college: Boise St.) came up with 17 points and 6 rebounds and American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Shizuoka in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kumamoto V. . They moved-up to second place, which they share with Koshigaya A. Newly promoted Shizuoka keeps the fifth position with nine games lost.
