Very expected game when 9th rankedNLEX RW (2-5) was edged by fifth ranked Meralco Bolts (4-1) in Manila 97-94 on Sunday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Nigerian Suleiman Braimoh (203-1989, college: Rice) nailed 38 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and point guard Christopher Banchero (186-1990, college: Seattle Pacific) accounted for 15 points. Four Meralco Bolts players scored in double figures. Guard Don Trollano (191-1992) came up with 24 points and 6 assists and American power forward Stokley Chaffee (204-1996, college: Tennessee St.) added 24 points and 8 rebounds respectively for NLEX RW in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Meralco Bolts moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Ginebra Kings. NLEX RW lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with Rain or Shine.
