Regular Season Round 14: Toyoda - Yokohama EX 85-80

There was an upset in Aichi where higher ranked Yokohama EX (9-5) was defeated by eleventh ranked Toyoda (6-8) 85-80 on Sunday. Toyoda made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (198-1991, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Ren Takemura (170-1995) chipped in 15 points and 9 assists during the contest. Latvian center Klavs Cavars (208-1996) responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Cherif Sow (201-1992) scored 11 points. Yokohama EX's coach Josep Claros tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyoda maintains eleventh position with 6-8 record, which they share with Yamaguchi. Loser Yokohama EX dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Saitama and Tachikawa. Toyoda will meet league's leader Fukui B. on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Yokohama EX will play against Shinagawa (#13) and hope to secure a win.
