Regular Season Round 2: Al Arabi - Al Wakrah 88-92

There was a surprise result in Doha where Al Wakrah defeated Al Arabi 92-88 on Saturday. Al Wakrah looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Aaron Mitchell (188-1989, college: Longwood) had a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 14 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Darious Clark (193-1990, college: Slippery Rock) chipped in 28 points and 4 assists during the contest. Worth to mention Clark played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. American forward Nick Stover (198-1993, college: USA) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and international guard Khaled Abdelbaset (191-1997) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four Al Wakrah and five Al Arabi players scored in double figures. Al Wakrah will meet at home Qatar Club in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Al Arabi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Rayyan.
