Regular Season Round 10: Osaka E. - Ryukyu GK 81-76

Rather predictable result when first ranked Osaka E. (9-1) won against at home one of their biggest challengers Ryukyu GK (7-3) 81-76 on Saturday. Strangely Ryukyu GK outrebounded Osaka E. 48-28 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Osaka E. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Shawn Long (208-1993, college: Louisiana, agency: Pensack Sports) notched 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Italian-American forward Angelo Caloiaro (203-1989, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 18 points. Osaka E.'s coach Mathias Fischer used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds by American power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Ryukyu GK. The former international swingman Keita Imamura (191-1996) added 17 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Osaka E. maintains first position with 9-1 record, which they share with San-en NP. Defending champion Ryukyu GK dropped to the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Tochigi Brex and Shimane SM. Osaka E. will again meet at home Ryukyu GK (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round.
