Regular Season Round 7: Tachikawa - Saitama 75-80

Date: October 28, 2023
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Tachikawa (5-2) at the home court. Hosts were defeated by Saitama (5-2) 80-75. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tachikawa. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized American center Will Creekmore (205-1989, college: Missouri St.) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Nigerian-American power forward Maxie Esho (206-1991, college: UMass) accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Maltese-American forward Aaron Falzon (203-1996, college: Quinnipiac) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-1990, college: Oklahoma, agency: Octagon Europe) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Tachikawa in the defeat. Four Tachikawa players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Saitama keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated Tachikawa. Saitama will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tachikawa will play again at home against Saitama and hopes to get back on the winning track.
