There was no surprise when 6th ranked Ehime OV (3-6) was outplayed on the road by fourth ranked Shizuoka (6-3) 99-72 on Wednesday. Liberian-American guard Thomas Bropleh (196-1991, college: Boise St.) fired 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Shizuoka players scored in double figures. American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198, college: LBSU) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds and Trinidad and Tobago center Jabari Narcis (206-1997, college: UT Arlington) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shizuoka have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Ehime OV keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Shizuoka will meet at home league's second-placed Koshigaya A. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ehime OV will play against Kumamoto V. (#3) and hope to secure a win.
