Regular Season Round 7: San-en NP - FE Nagoya 89-80

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated FE Nagoya (4-1) in Hamamatsu on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by San-en NP (6-1) 89-80. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of FE Nagoya. San-en NP made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward Coty Clarke (201-1992, college: Arkansas) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Point guard Ryusei Sasaki (180-1996) helped adding 19 points, 6 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the losing side American power forward Sean O'Mara (208-1995, college: Xavier) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Aaron Henry (198, college: Michigan St.) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. San-en NP have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted FE Nagoya keeps the third place with one game lost. San-en NP is looking forward to face Akita NH (#5) on the road in the next round. FE Nagoya will play against Chiba Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
